Who we are
Marketiva is a fractional marketing director practice based in Leeds, UK, trading at marketiva.co.uk. We're the data controller for any information you share with us through this site. If you need to reach us about your data, use the contact form and pick the "Something else" option.
What we collect
This site is intentionally low on tracking. The only information we actively collect is what you send us through one of our forms — typically:
- Your name and email address (so we can reply).
- Your business name, if you give it.
- The subject you selected (e.g. Fractional Director, Foundations, First Light, Compass, or "something else").
- The message you wrote.
- The page you submitted from, so we know whether you came in through, say, the Compass waitlist or the general contact form.
We don't run analytics on this site, set our own cookies, or build behavioural profiles. We don't have a Facebook Pixel, a Google Tag, or any third-party tracker firing in the background.
How we use it
We use what you tell us for one thing: to reply to you about the thing you got in touch about. We don't add you to a newsletter. We don't share your details with a third party for marketing. We don't sell them, ever. If a conversation turns into work together, your details move into our normal client records — invoices, contracts, project notes — which are kept on UK or EU-based business tooling (accountancy software, email).
Where it's processed
Form submissions are relayed through Web3Forms, a US-based form processor. They receive your submission, forward it to our UK inbox, and (per their own privacy policy) don't retain the contents long-term. Transfers to the US rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) as the lawful safeguard.
From Web3Forms, your message arrives in our regular email inbox, hosted in the UK/EU. We read it, reply to it, and (if there's no further conversation) eventually delete the thread.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies of its own. We don't have a consent banner because there's nothing for you to consent to.
The one external resource we load is Google Fonts. When your browser fetches the font files from fonts.gstatic.com, Google may log standard request data (IP address, user agent, referer). We don't have any control over that — it's a function of how the open web fetches third-party assets. If that's a concern, most modern browsers offer a "block third-party requests" toggle, and content blockers handle it automatically.
How long we keep it
If you get in touch and nothing further comes of it, we delete the exchange within 24 months. If we start working together, your details are retained for as long as we're actively engaged, plus a reasonable accountancy window (typically 6 years, as required by UK tax law). You can ask us to delete what we hold at any time — see below.
Your rights under UK GDPR
You have the right to:
- Ask what data we hold about you (right of access).
- Correct anything that's wrong (rectification).
- Ask us to delete it (erasure), within reason — we're required to keep some records for accountancy.
- Object to how we use it.
- Receive a copy in a portable format.
- Complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you're unhappy with how we've handled your data. Their site is ico.org.uk.
Making a data request
The simplest route is the contact form — pick "Something else" as the subject and tell us what you'd like us to do. We'll respond within one calendar month, as UK GDPR requires.
Changes to this notice
If we change anything material, we'll update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. There's no separate archive of older versions, but if you need to know what was previously in force, ask us.
